Chairman of Kitchen and Bathroom Furniture Industrialists and Importers Association (MUDER) Board of Directors, Seyfi Ayaskan evaluated the new developments and new trends in kitchen furniture in 2011 - 2012 season.

Ayaskan stated that the designs introduced by the companies operating in the branded kitchen furniture industry that has shown a great improvement have been carrying the kitchens far beyond the simple furniture concept where the lower and upper cabinets are lined up side by side. He added that the most prominent feature of the trends in kitchen furniture in recent years is the kitchens that meet the demands of the users accurately through creative and smart solutions, raise the desire to increase life quality in consumers, are manufactured from environmentally sensitive materials and equipped with technology according to any needs of the users.

“Moreover, in the “identity design” trend that has emerged thanks to the changing consumer trends all over the world, the concept of individuality in every field of life from clothing to textiles, from furniture to technology, and the desire to differentiate, reflecting one’s own identity shines out with the details adorned with individual comments and personal preferences unusually added to the style that one likes with their own feelings and creativity and unique solutions are considered valuable” says the Chairman of MUDER Board of Directors and lists the latest trends in kitchen furniture for 2011-2012 as follows based on all these developments;

“Minimal designs with completely straight and simple lines. In the upper cabinets, large single-piece doors that can be opened and closed by electric and remote control or fully touch-operated mechanisms, handles embedded inside the door or hidden by profiles.

Although the dominance of white is accepted by everyone, surfaces in cream or ivory colors softened with natural wood; black of smoke-color masses supported with steel, aluminum and glass elements on concrete walls; contrast views created with a yellow, red or green panel or door in a kitchen dominated with cold colors such as dark gray.

Mostly glossy acrylic and lacquered surfaces. Exotic woods such as ebony and teak as well as wooden surfaces as walnut, oak and cherry with their natural colors, watering and patterns.

Large volume pantry cabinets for large storage needs, deep drawers, glass usage mainly in drawer interiors and shelves, drawer and rail systems that self-open effortlessly by a light touch, and lighting system for drawer and cabinet interiors.

For counters, steel that can be thinned up to one-two centimeters, acrylics made of quartz and hard materials, compact laminates or natural materials such as marble and granite that are used in thick masses.

Sinks level with counters. Moving faucets, steel or acrylic sinks where faucets are folded in when not in use and that have an appearance of a flat counter with the cover on the place of the faucet.
